About Sol Foundation for Schizophrenia

The more than 75 million Americans overwhelmed with mental dis-orders are routinely discriminated against in the areas of employment, housing, medical care, and social relationships. But there is a place where they can find support. There is a place working nonstop to help them. Sol Foundation for Schizophrenia is a not for profit organization dedicated to bodymind research, and assisting those overwhelmed with mood disorders.

Sol Foundation for Schizophrenia Inc was established in 2008 by Alexandra Lane. Ms. Lane’s interest in Schizophrenia began when her sister became overwhelmed with this dis-ease in 1995. Since 1999, Alexandra has been a healthcare provider deeply devoted to caring for people with Schizophrenia and related mind dis-orders. Since day one, SFFSI has been conducting programs out of volunteer homes, as well as Ms. Lane's home office. From that point forward, Sol Foundation for Schizophrenia has grown to have over 300 compassionate volunteers in multiple countries.

Alexandra has conducted several research projects, and has hosted seminars on Guided Imagery in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Tokyo, and at UC Berkeley. She is currently a practicing Guided Imagery therapist and Reiki practitioner. She graduated with honors from both Quest College and The International Professional School of Bodywork in San Diego, CA. Alexandra has also trained at multiple private colleges and abroad over the past 4 years in a multiplex of holistic therapies. She is a dedicated public outreach volunteer for various not for profit institutions. She has worked and volunteered for UCLA, Scripps, UCSD, Children’s Hospital, and YMCA, as well as private practices over the last 15 years. Also a musician, Alexandra hosts musical extravaganzas for mental health awareness.
